After doing some research online to find someone who would professionally... restore and hand re-tin my copper cookware, I knew Sherwood Tinning, Nick and Josh would be the right choice. I was definitely right in my decision. So far I’ve brought 46 pieces of copper cookware in, some in pretty bad shape, and they were returned to me like new. What I loved seeing in my antique pieces upon their return was that care was taken to ensure they looked excellent and were 100% functional, but the signs of decades of use were not erased and you could still see that they were old pans. The first time my wife and I met with Nick and Josh, we ended up staying there and talking with them for an hour and a half. They are some of the most genuinely friendly people you will meet. After leaving that first time, it was like having two friends that it seemed like we had known for years. Between the great communication, expert craftsmanship, and friendliness you cannot go wrong with Sherwood Tinning. I highly recommend them to anyone looking to restore and re-tin your copper items. Truly excellent! I’m a Dutch cookbook writer, and I had bought three worn-out... antique baking moulds, which desperately needed to be repaired and completely retinned before I could use them to bake traditional recipes.Seeing as copper tinning is a rather forgotten trade, I sent them over to Sherwood Tinning in the UK. After considering the state of the moulds, owner Nick Stevenson carefully mended and cleaned the damaged and tarnished copper, stripped the lining, and completely retinned the inside by hand. They arrived at our place a couple of days ago, and the end result is simply breath-taking. I never would have imagined they would turn out so wonderful: Every intricate detail of the lining is painstakingly preserved, and the bright copper sheen is a sight to behold. They are truly restored to their former glory, and after what must be close to a hundred years, completely safe to be put to good use in the kitchen once more.I wholeheartedly recommend working with Sherwood Tinning to anyone who has a love for the art and history of kitchenware. Nick was very helpful and very professional. I was not in a rush but the turnaround was very impressive and I am delighted with the work. Nick from Sherwood Tinning has looked after my pans for many years now. I have a collection of 28 pans, most of them have been to Nick for refurbishment and personal initials stamped on. Four have just been returned to me, the only thing is that they look to good to be used. When I sent them a couple of weeks ago they looked a sorry sight but look at them now.
Nick is a pleasure to do business with , very helpful and good communication through the process.

My copper pan returned to me today and was nearly unrecognisable it was so beautifully retinned and polished. I am looking forward to using it once again. His very clear instructions on packing my pan to send to Sherwood were very helpful, as were the website's instructions on how to measure my pan to get a quick estimate of cost.
